I first heard Lita Ford in my uncle's car. He had one of her cassettes and listened to it often. I "acquired" this tape for some time.
I listened to it often and became a Lita Fan. I didn't know which of her songs were singles because they were current much time before I was, but I became a fan of many songs anyway. I feel in love with such songs as "Kiss Me Deadly" "Under the Gun" "Back to the Cave" and "Close my Eyes Forever."
Come to think of it I may still have that tape, but I also bought her greatest hits CD. From this I became a fan of the song "Lisa." Although at first I wasn't extremely fond of the CD is grew on me quickly. I appreciated more songs and Lita's talent as I listened.
One day of thew radio I recognized Lita doing a cover of "Only Women Bleed" and thought it was great!
Anyway here I am a fan. I love Lita because she has a great voice. I also love her because she is prominent in the 80's metal scene. Not only that, but she can play. I read online that at a very early age Lita could play everything from Black Sabbath, Hendrix, and Deep Purple. I thought this was a damned good feat.
So here we are at the fanlisting; you know who she is and why I made it and just in case you don't know what a fanlisting is I'll tell you: "A fanlisting is a place for all fans of a particular show, movie, actor, actress, singer, etc. to come together and build the biggest listing of people from all around the world who are fans of that subject." That defnition came from TFL where this site is listed.
About Lita Ford
Lita Ford, born Carmelita Rossanna Ford, on Septemember 19 1958 in London is known for both her solo career and as the former guitarist for all-girl rock band The Runaways, whihc also included rocker Joan Jett.
She began playing guitar at the young age of 11 and was quite adept at it already at age 13. Although she has been successful as a vocalist and guitarist even earning a Grammy nomination, has had a few sideprocjects, including one with husband Jim Gillette (Ex-Nitro) called Rumble Culture and has been in a smattering of televeision and films roles, her career has many highs and lows over the years.
Starting with her first few albums released on Mercury, "Out For Blood," "Dancin' On The Edge" and the never-relased "Bride Wore Black," Lita would see that her label would continously fail to promote her albums and although she gained some popularity in Europe, American music fans didn't catch on.
Lita would then switch labels and managers and began working with RCA and Sharon Osbourne, the wife of Ozzy Osbourne. Her first record relased from RCA, Lita in 1988, would become her most successful, climbing the charts high and releasing several hit singles.
Several albums would follow, "Stiletto" and "Dangerous Curves," but failed to gain the acclaim of Lita. RCA would later release the first greastest hits compilation "The Best of Lita Ford." "Black," a German release, saw Lita going back to her musical roots and her lyrical content matured.
Soon after Lita would take a break from performing and recording because of the pregnancy and birth of her first son. However, Lita returned to record "Greatest Hits Live" in 2000, an album which sparked some hopes in fans because it contained a new song.
Soon after, Lita would have her second son and the world would see another hits compilation released. Rare footage of Lita ford as well ass other Runaways band members can be scene in the movie "Edgeplay" which retells the band's story.
